 Program Options

Our Weekly Program for Grades 1-4meets once a week from September through April.
Families can choose from the following dates/times:       
Saturdays 9:00 am - 10:30 am   
Mondays 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm
Wednesdays 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm

The curriculum for grade school students covers many facets of our Catholic Faith including but not limited to learning about God the Father in Grade 1, Jesus in Grade 2, the Church in Grade 3 and the Commandments in Grade 4.  Each child takes a turn to take home a Traveling Kit with the appropriate prayers to share with the whole family. There are different Traveling Kit themes for each grade level to reinforce lessons- Jesus, Mary, a Blessing Cup, and the Ten Commandments are the traveling kit themes for Grades 1-4, respectively.  Additional activities include a tour of the sacristy, tour of St. Gregory’s.  

Grade 2 students receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is received by Grade 3 students. Classes are enriched with singing, prayer services, and videos as a regular part of their curriculum and may participate in a Christmas and Lenten Pageant.  Class sizes are limited to fourteen students per class. Students will be placed on a first come first serve basis for families who are active parishioners of St. Gregory's Parish.Church, Advent and Lenten Penance Services, Stations of the Cross and the Rosary. Students are encouraged to participate in various service and outreach opportunities during class times.   

   Parents are expected to sign up to  participate in
   one of the following  capacities: 
   catechist (teacher), teacher’s aide, substitute 
   catechist, room parent (only one per class 
   needed) or helper for special projects.

One Child            $95
Two Children     $175
Three Children   $255
Four or more      $325

*Must be an active Parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Parish; the student's family must be registered active members of St. Gregory's Parish and attend weekly Mass. In addition,the student must have had good attendance without any discipline problems in his or her previous grade level.
