Mission In accordance with canon law and diocesan policy, the Parish Finance Council is an advisory body to the pastor. The purpose of the council is to provide the pastor with advice and assistance concerning financial matters of the parish.
Ministry Description The council is comprised of up to 15 members, appointed by the pastor, who meet at least 6 times per year. The Council's purpose is to evaluate the parish's overall financial needs, and make recommendations to the pastor. Tasks include preparing the parish's annual operating budget; analyzing the monthly revenues and costs; offering guidance on long-range financial goals of the parish and prudent use of funds; and developing policies regarding revenues, insurance, spending, and investment of funds.
The Finance Council may establish or dissolve standing and ad hoc committees as needed. There are presently three standing committees: budget, revenue, and tuition assistance..
