Mission Statement The goal of the St. Gregory the Great Bereavement Ministry is to bring a spiritual presence and hope to the bereaved so that those who grieve the death of a loved one may know the comfort of God through their parish.
Ministry Description Grief and Loss Ministry
Finding Healing and Hope amidst Life’s Losses
Held the first Wednesday of each Month
7:00-8:30pm
Gathering Room I (adjacent to the Church)
We recognize that many individuals are struggling with the death of loved ones, loss of marriages through death, separation or divorce, loss of job, as well as other life losses. We offer this ministry in the hope of helping people transition through their pain and help them to recognize that there is a degree of grieving that often needs to happen in order to work through these losses.
The presentations will begin at 7:00 pm followed by a break with refreshments at 7:45, after which people have the option of leaving or they are welcome to stay another half hour for one on one conversations or small group discussion.
These meetings are open to all including non parishioners, extended family or friends.
If you or someone you know is in need of healing and hope, we invite you to journey with us through this ministry of outreach and support for those dealing with loss.

The Bereavement Ministry was formed in November 1989. The ministry reaches out to the bereaved person or family for one year or more after the death of a loved one, through an assigned member of the Bereavement Team. Anyone who feels lost or forsaken due to a death is welcome to attend any of our meetings or call members of the Bereavement Committee. Support is available to all who are a part of our parish as well as those from other churches. Various seminars and monthly grief support groups are available; an annual memorial service is held for those parishioners who died during the year.
A Children/Teen Bereavement ministry is also available to our youth (ages7-17) who have experienced the death of a loved one.
