Purposes

  1. To transport excess and unused food from Western New York restaurants, caterers, bakeries, grocery stores, hotels, and hospitals to soup kitchens and homeless shelters in Western New York areas.
  2. To increase community awareness of food waste and the needs of the many hungry people in Western New York.
  3. To aid Western New York soup kitchens and homeless shelters in securing food to serve to the homeless and hungry people of Western New York.

How You Can Help
ANYONE (retirees, working people, students, at-home parents, professionals) in the Erie or Niagara County region can be a Food Shuttle volunteer driver. Shuttle runs fit into any schedule: week-days or week-ends.

Volunteers join Food Shuttle by signing up with one of Food Shuttle's three branches: Amherst, Ken-Ton, or SouthTowns. Leave your name and phone number on Food Shuttle's Hot Line: 688 - 2527 and one of our volunteers will respond with more information.
