Mission Statement To serve rather than be served
The Ladies of Charity (LOC) is a dedicated group of women who volunteer their time and talents to assist less fortunate people, through the LOC Diocesan Center and through St. Greg’s parish. The LOC is inspired by its patrons, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac.

Ministry Description and Activities The Ladies of Charity meet on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Some of the group’s activities include:
Collecting household goods for annual distribution by the Diocesan Center
Working the first Monday of each month at the LOC diocesan thrift store
Assembling layettes for indigent families in the Diocese
Collecting school supplies for needy children
Preparing 10 Thanksgiving and 10 Easter dinner baskets for needy families
Providing gifts for two needy families in support of St. Greg's Family to Family Christmas
Making wheelchair/walker tote bags for local nursing homes
Making rosaries for St. Greg’s first communicants
Assisting a Nicaraguan mission
The LOC also cares for the general appearance of St. Greg’s church, working each Monday and Thursday mornings. Because we are involved in such a variety of activities, we have “something for everyone.” All parish women are welcome to join our ministry.

The Junior Ladies of Charity (JLOC) is a volunteer group for girls, grades 6 through 12, sponsored by the Ladies of Charity. The JLOC provides an opportunity for girls to participate in service projects that benefit our community.
The JLOC meets one Sunday each month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the Ministry Center or may involve a field trip to volunteer at a community organization. Meetings may include a guest speaker or work on a service project. Some past projects included: collecting for Harvest House, decorating the children’s skilled nursing facility at Deaconess Hospital, serving meals at the St. Vincent de Paul dining room, and visiting the Sisters of St. Joseph. New members are always welcome.
