Mission
St. Gregory the Great School, as a faith community, commits itself to the moral and spiritual formation of our students in the Roman Catholic faith.

We strive for academic excellence, personal development, and service to others in the spirit of Christ.

We call bright, inquisitive minds to a lifelong commitment of learning and leadership.

Welcome
St. Gregory the Great School is located on a 17-acre campus of St.Gregory the Great Parish in Williamsville, in the town of Amherst, a suburb of Buffalo, New York. The parish, one of the largest in both the diocese of Buffalo and New York State, includes over 5100 registered families. The area is primarily residential. In close proximity we have a hospital, other schools, businesses and banks, restaurants and a public library.

St. Gregory the Great School nurtures the academic, religious, and value development of its students. We strive to create an environment which fosters a strong sense of community, high academic standards, discipline and order, a committed and collegial faculty, and exceptional parental interest and participation. It is the responsibility of the entire school community--the administration, teachers, support staff, parents, and students - to create and nurture an atmosphere which reflects Gospel values and living. We strive to make Gospel values real to our students since these values are fundamental to all education

St. Gregory the Great School respects the rights, interests and personal dignity of each child. Learning methods used in all curricular areas develop creativity and stimulate an inquiring spirit. Acknowledging the parents' role as primary and continuing educators of their children, St. Gregory the Great encourages parental participation. Working together, the members of St. Gregory the Great School strive to educate children who not only function as productive students in secondary education, but who begin to mature as responsible members of their family, their community, their church, and their world.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ST. GREGORY’S SCHOOL

Service
St. Greg’s chapter of The League, a national service organization, ran a drive for supplies for 11 adopted soldiers overseas. The students of Saint Greg’s collected over 2000 items and it weighed almost 1000 pounds. Below is a letter and photo we received from one of the soldiers:

Dear Colleen Politowski,

I wanted to take the time to say thank you so much for the boxes. The other soldiers and I greatly appreciate the time and effort that went into making them for us. It was a very pleasant surprise. We will definitely enjoy the games, food, and other fantastic items since we don’t have a shoppette/store here where we can buy such things. Your contributions are extremely appreciated and I personally am grateful to have such wonderful people supporting the Soldiers. Again, we thank you for making our day!

Attached are some pictures of myself to share with the children.
