St. Gregory the Great School Facilities
The parish school was built in 1960. The parish facilities expanded in 1998 with a new Ministry Center, a multi-purpose Gathering Room adjacent to the church, parish business offices, rectory and a remodeled church. The school is connected to all of these except the Ministry Center, the large facility containing a gym and many meeting rooms.

The school has a single, handicap accessible floor plan. It consists of three wings connected by air-conditioned gymnasium and cafeteria areas. Administrative offices, student health office, and parish Religious Education offices are centrally located. The recently installed security/alarm system is equipped with cameras and a buzz-in design at the entrances.

In addition to the 27 homerooms, we have specially equipped and adapted classrooms, library, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, and a kitchen. Some special features about each of these rooms are listed below:

1. All classrooms - connected to the Internet, each has a PC and Power Macintosh computer. Scholastic Reader, a continually updated network database, allows teachers to assess reading ability throughout all grade levels.



2. Seven of these rooms have permanent suspended TV/VCR units.



3. Art room - contains a digital projector for distance learning activities, scanner, digital camera and digital camcorder.



4. Music room - houses a digital piano (for use with a PowerMac computer) and a Bigfoot keyboard.



5. Computer lab - contains 27 PC computers, color printer, Ethernet hub, network, scanner, digital projector, CD burner.



6. Science lab (grades 7 & 8) - equipped for both lecture and experiment classes.



7. Junior high classroom - equipped for health, math, and remedial instruction.



8. Two smaller rooms – climate controlled, designed for remedial instruction, speech/occupational therapy.



9. Library Media Center - houses over 10,000 books with reference materials, PC and iMac computers with printers, worktables.



10. Gymnasium - updated in 1998, also contains a stage area. (We also have use of the larger gym and performance stage in the Ministry Center.)



11. Cafeteria - connected to the gym by a movable partition. (A kitchen is attached to the cafeteria.)



12. Pre-K program - has classes for 3-5 year olds.



13. Playground - adjacent to the school building (erected in the spring of 2001).
