Volunteers Needed

HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
We need High School Volunteers for Vacation Bible School from July 13-17. We need volunteers to be crew leaders and to assist with games, crafts, snacks, and more. Volunteers MUST be present from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday – Thursday and from 8:30 am – 12:45 pm on Friday during VBS week and also attend one training session. Volunteers must commit for the whole week; you cannot volunteer for just one or two days. No one will be allowed to leave early. Volunteers will be credited for 20 hours of service. Volunteers must submit the online HS Volunteer Form and attend ONE of two VBS Training sessions:
Dates for VBS Training
You must attend ONE of the following sessions in the School Gym in order to volunteer:
Saturday, June 13, 9:00 am-10:30 am, OR
Monday, June 15 from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm
Other Volunteer Options for VBS: If you cannot commit to the full week and can only volunteer for a few hours, other opportunities to volunteer for VBS include VBS decorating, and there is also a VBS Set up day on Saturday, July 11 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. in the School. Email Michael Ruszala to volunteer for Decorations and/or for the VBS Set up Day.
VBS God Sightings(R) Fundraiser after Masses: We need volunteers (Adults and High School Volunteers) to help for about 15 minutes after Masses for this fundraiser. We’ll have a table after each of the Masses at St. Greg’s. Parishioners who donate will write their name on a flower or leaf for the God Sighting(R) board for Vacation Bible School! We need a number of adult volunteers to help us with various tasks at the Family Faith Formation Office throughout the year:
Data Entry for Registrations and/or Baptismal Certificates: Assist with entering faith formation registrations or baptismal records into our database. We’ll particularly need several volunteers in this role over the coming months! Role specs: Basic computer skills; 3 hours of training provided; 3–8 hours per month; must be 18+.
Data Entry for Online Homework: Assist with recording student online homework for the Generations of Faith program. Role specs: Basic computer skills; 15 minutes of training provided; about 2 hours per month.
Generations of Faith Hospitality: Help create a welcoming environment by setting up and organizing refreshments during Generations of Faith gatherings. Role specs: Ability to stand and organize refreshments; 30 minutes of training provided; about 2 hours per month.
Technology Setup: Assist with setting up videos and technology in classrooms. Role specs: Basic computer skills and mobility; 2 hours of training provided; about 3 hours per month.

All our FFF students are invited to create cards of encouragement for our shut-in parishioners. Cards can be dropped off in the Parish Office Vestibule 24/7 in the appropriately labeled box. Our parish staff will mail them out accordingly.

You can also make or purchase greeting cards for kids (“Thinking of You”, “Get Well” and Birthday cards). If you sign the cards, please only use your first name and last name initial (ie. Johnny A.).
Spread kindness by making or purchasing Thinking of You or Birthday cards with personal notes of encouragement for our area nursing homes. If you sign the card, please only use your first name and last name initial. Other items such as hand cream, tissues, books, magazines, used jewelry (in good condition) or seasonal decorations for residents to decorate their rooms are also appreciated.
Please drop off (or mail) items directly to any nursing home facility.
You can make Individual Care Kits that can be distributed to individuals in various homeless shelters in the Buffalo area. Gather supplies and fill one-gallon plastic zip lock bags with personal supplies and/or small snacks.
Suggestions: Toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, bar of soap, comb, shampoo, disposable razors, shaving cream, wash cloth, deodorant, face mask, packaged snacks, breakfast bars. A homemade card or prayer card would be thoughtful. Please only use your first name and last name initial if you sign the card.
