FIRST COMMUNION DAY:
Arrival: Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your Mass time. Please enter the Church from the front entrance then immediately walk your child down to the school classrooms for Procession line-up and return to your pew.

Seating: Have your child memorize their assigned pew # and side (Choir or Tabernacle). When they Process in, children who are making their First Communion should be seated by the aisle next to their Banner.

Silence Please!   Please remember to enter, be seated, and exit the Church silently and prayerfully.  Keep in mind, sounds and conversations in the foyer can be heard in the church!

Reception of Communion: All First Communicants will be ushered up to receive the Eucharist, before any family members, in the order that they are seated.  They should walk around and return to the opposite end of your pew to sit, then wait until the family is ushered to communion before sliding back to their spot by the aisle. (This will keep them from climbing over family members to return to their seat.)

After all the First Communicants have received, the family will be ushered to receive Communion.

Dress Code:
Girls
White dress, white shoes, and white socks/tights (Headpiece optional – veils, ribbons, flowers in hair) NO: gloves, rosaries, purses, prayer books or bouquets

Pictures: No picture taking, or video cameras will be allowed in the aisles on the main floor of the church during First Communion.  The balcony will be open for photography. Class Photo will be taken at the end of the Mass, please listen for the teachers name to come up.

Dismissal: Children will leave the Church with their families. There will be no procession out of the church.  Please remember to take your child’s banner and certificate.

Thank you for the wonderful job that you have done to prepare your child for this beautiful Sacrament.  It has been a privilege working with you and your child. If you have any questions or concerns; please feel free to call us at (716) 688-5760 between the hours of 9:00am and 2:00pm Monday – Thursday.
