R.C.I.A

RCIA at St. Gregory the Great, Williamsville, NY

For people seeking to become Catholic or for those seeking to find out more and explore, RCIA is the program tailored to you. The participants, along with the RCIA team and our Pastoral associate, Fr. Paul Cygan meet weekly on Wednesdays nights at 7:00 pm to discuss and explore topics of faith, theology, Scripture, morals, devotions and prayer. RCIA formally extends from September through early May; yet our Team members are available throughout the year for questions and discussion on an individual basis.

RCIA is structured through four phases:
• Inquiry: Come and see. Explore if this is right for you.
• Catechumenate: Commit to continue learning; attend weekly Sunday Mass with a Team member
• Enlightenment: Sent by the Parish to the Diocesan cathedral, catechumens are entered into the Book of Life as they prepare for Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation
• Mystagogy: You are Catholic! Explore how to keep your spiritual fire burning.
